After obtaining a Certificate IV in Audio Engineering at SAE she spent 2 US summers at a Summer Camp dedicated to performing arts running sound in up to 4 venues at once, worked in the Audio department at Wonderland Sydney for almost 2 years and has lost count of the number of shows she has done with Loud and Clear.
Having spent many years performing on stage in musicals and choirs, in the pit and in varied bands, and with 2 years’ service on the committee of a musical society Kathryn has a great love and enthusiasm for all aspects of musical productions.

Thanks to her mum who took her to every show that came to Sydney, this Blue Mountains girl had a love of musicals from a young age. As a young singer she performed with Hugh Jackman, Marina Prior and The Wiggles; appeared in some commercials involving airlines and chips; sang at sporting grand finals; and toured the UK and USA finishing with a gala concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC and a performance for the Royal Family in London.
By her teens she switched her love to backstage and arts management. She completed a Bachelor of Music majoring in Arts and Entertainment Management at AIM while working in the Music Department of Disney’s The Lion King at Capitol Theatre.
Working as an Events Manager in Sydney with many high profile and large outdoor events up her sleeve, she joined L&C part time in 2008 as an all dancing Mic Tech and in 2011 began her learning curve as an Engineer.
Erin couldn’t be happier to turn her love of musicals, sound and arts management into her dream job and in 2012 joined the crew full time.

Oliver started his career in the arts industry from the early age of ten where he volunteered his technical skills at the local theatre company. From there he pursued the technical side of theatre and in particular sound all throughout high school working in various roles on productions from plays such as The Crucible to musicals like Les Misérables. After high school he detoured a little to study a Bachelor of Arts, Screen at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) before returning to theatre (with a little bit of film on the side) to join the Loud and Clear team as an Audio Engineer and Systems Engineer. He continues to enjoy mixing musical theatre far more than he should for his job as well as working in film, television and classical recording.

Ash has worked on productions such as; Avenue Q, Godspell, Mary Poppins, Creative Generation, High School Musical, Fiddler on the Roof, Phantom of the Opera and Catch Me If You Can just to name a few. AUDIO ENGINEER
A musician since the age of 11, Ross has over 25 years of experience in the arts working in music, theatre, and production. A 17 year career in the Royal Australian Navy Band as a musician and audio engineer included tours to Turkey, China, UAE, USA, Brunei, and Tonga; producing a number of recordings, and operational deployments as the senior engineer and production manager on entertainment tours to Iraq, Afghanistan, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste. He holds bachelor’s degrees in music and Arts, and a master’s in business.
After leaving the Navy in 2015 a love of theatre drew him to Loud and Clear where his ability to lift things without complaining (much) appeared to be appreciated.
After some time freelancing, Ross took up a position in touring and production with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. He now works as the Head of Production with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
His main life goal remains to one day grow a decent beard.
He hasn’t mixed in a while now, so is happy to just get comps to Hamilton if someone can hook him up…

Maxwelle-Jane Dwyer is a highly committed jack-of-all-trades with a passion for the arts seen in both her technical experience and her dedication to study, now in audio as of the start of 2020!
MJ (or Jane, as she’s introduced) has a history of performing with a number of companies west of Sydney including the Richmond Players, Penrith Musical Comedy Company, Blackout Theatre Company, and Blue Mountains Musical Society, and loves to apply her passion wherever she’s able to help out. This is what lead her down her long-term passion: the technical side of musical theatre, driving her to join Loud and Clear in 2016 as a Microphone Technician and train herself up to an Audio Engineering role in 2019.

David’s association with theatre stretches over 25 years and includes several years in regional operations from Tamworth to the Hunter, and across Sydney covering not only Audio, but Musical Direction, keys, saxophones, percussion and production. As a theatre administrator, David has recently designed and led the company restructure for Newcastle Dramatic Art Club Incorporated, one of Australia’s oldest community theatre organisations. Although trained as a classical pianist, David’s professional gigs include Grease and Phantom of The Opera plus regular Edinburgh Fringe Festivals to engineering La Grande Cirque’s recent OZ Tour.

Nate stalked the Loud and Clear gang while crewing for HMS’ production of We Will Rock You, and a few months later finally got up the courage to ask Erin to take him on. Nate graduated in June 2019 from Ultimo TAFE with a Diploma in Music Industry (Sound Production) and has worked on numerous shows with Loud and Clear and in a volunteer capacity. You may have seen Nate on stage as “turkey boy” in Scrooge, and the Grand Poobah in the Mikado, but he definitely prefers being behind the scenes. He loves his job so much that the only clothes in his wardrobe are stage blacks.

Microphone Technician
Erin, otherwise known as Jimi, began her work with Loud and Clear in high school as a part of her VET Entertainment Course work placement. After graduating high school in 2012, she quickly sealed her spot as the youngest member of the Loud and Clear family, and has since been the overly enthusiastic Mic Tech for many musicals as well as the Lord Mayor’s Picnic NYE. Since performing in her first musical in 2009, it has been impossible to tear Erin away from the theatre. Clearly obsessed, she has been involved with numerous shows as a performer, pit vocalist, stage manager and of course, mic tech. Erin is currently enrolled at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying a Bachelor of Music (Music Education) majoring in Composition, and it is no surprise that musical theatre is one of her favourite genres to compose. In future, Erin plans to become a high school music teacher and hopes to spread her love and knowledge of the theatre on unsuspecting students. Erin couldn’t ask for a better job and adores being able to work in an industry that she is so passionate about.

After bugging Dave for years to take a chance on him, Philby was welcomed into the Loud and Clear family in May 2014. Since then, he has tech’d many shows and is often put on jobs mainly for his ability to lift heavy things and move them from point A to point B, often via points C through H. He is a musical theatre tragic and has been involved in many shows in the Sydney region, and is currently studying to be a High School Music Teacher. He loves everyone in the L&C family except 2 (they know who they are…) and he has threatened to continue working for Loud and Clear until death. Or until his wife threatens divorce. But probably death.

Laura’s theatre journey begun from when she was foetus. 20+ years on, she is still very involved on and off the stage and is still as passionate as ever! She is a small, theatrical human who loves dancing, singing, acting, and fixing everything with gaffer tape. Laura joined the Loud and Clear team officially when she started as a work experience kid in 2014 and has been employed as a microphone technician since 2016. She has worked with many different schools and musical societies and has worked on a wide variety of musicals.
Even though she is the same height as the children, Laura is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and adores working with kids. She also has a Certificate III in Live Productions and Services and studied the VET Entertainment course for her HSC. Laura’s greatest achievement is providing joy to all through a video of her falling off a chair TWICE on stage dressed as Alice during a performance of Stage Artz’s Alice in Wonderland in 2013. It still regularly circulates social media today.

Josh’s musical theatre journey started onstage in 2009, where he was somewhat coerced into playing Jesus for his high school’s production of Godspell. Since then he has developed a great appreciation for all things theatre including the production of it!
As a recent graduate of the Master of Architectural Science (Audio & Acoustics) from the University of Sydney, he loves geeking out about sound system design and all things technical. Mixing for Loud and Clear fits together nicely with his current role as an Event Operations Technician at Facebook, Sydney.

As well as a passion for musical theatre, Alice also has a love for working with children and introducing them to music at an early age. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) at Macquarie University. Alice loves working for Loud and Clear and hopes that one day she can use the knowledge she has learnt about theatre and sound and combine it into teaching children all about theatre!

David J was once on the receiving end of the work performed by Loud and Clear. He was often spotted treading the boards of various theatres throughout Sydney and beyond. But 10 years ago he was so impressed with what we do, he started “working” for us. A couple of years after that we even started to pay him. Since then he’s still been known to do the odd role here and there. Sometimes he’s even performed roles at the same time as being the mic tech. Whilst not changing mics backstage, he can be found giving direction, choreography, vocal training, hugs etc to the cast and crew. And then there’s the food… but we don’t have room to elaborate on that here.

Microphone Technician

She continued to volunteer her services with a few small productions before joining the Loud and Clear family, as a Microphone Technician in early 2019.
